GOING BEYOND THE BASICS

Walking into an IEP or 504 meeting can be intimidating and overwhelming. As a special educator and case manager, I want to take the feedback I ‘ve heard over the years and apply my expertise to your side of the table.

My Masters Degree in Special Education has offered me the privilege of working in general education classrooms, special education classrooms, and in a behavioral clinical/home setting. In my 10+ years of experience my passion has always been advocating for my students and fostering relationships with families that last beyond the time in my classroom.

Working with an IEP/504 team and facilitating meetings has been my professional responsibility for over 10 years now and the feedback I have gotten has been consistent:

“The amount of people talking at parents is intimidating.”

“The amount of information is overwhelming.”

“Sometimes the paperwork is hard to understand.”

“It’s difficult to interject with questions and concerns.”

“The experience is very emotional.”

“What can we do at home?”

I want to be your second set of ears, your voice, the person who can break it down for you, and a true support for when the process is a lot to handle.  I want to take my expertise and work for you and your child directly and live my passion of advocating for students and building lasting relationships.
